Learn Lexi one step at a time.
Short, numbered walkthroughs for the settings and habits that matter most: your shortcut, connecting Gmail or Outlook, approvals, memory and the activity log.
Set your keyboard shortcut and use push-to-talk.
Pick the shortcut that brings Lexi up, then hold it to talk.
Open Lexi and go to Settings.
Select Shortcut. Your current shortcut is shown.
Select the shortcut field and press the keys you want. Choose a combination no other app uses.
If your computer says the shortcut is already taken, pick another one.
Select Save.
Press your shortcut once. Lexi comes up over whatever app you are using. Press it again, or press Escape, to put Lexi away.
To talk, hold your shortcut and speak your request. Lexi listens only while you hold it.
Release when you finish. Lexi shows the words it heard so you can check them.
Review the plan and approve if needed.
Prefer typing? Press your shortcut once and type in the panel. You can also click the Lexi icon at the edge of your screen.
On macOS: the shortcut field says Press your shortcut, then records Option and Space. You save it and press it once to try it.
On Windows: the shortcut field says Press your shortcut, then records Ctrl and Space. You save it and press it once to try it.
Done when: pressing your shortcut brings Lexi up, and holding it lets you speak a request that Lexi shows back to you.

Done when: Gmail and Google Workspace show as connected, and Lexi summarizes your inbox from this morning.

Review and approve actions.
See the plan, edit it, and approve only what you want.
Ask Lexi for a task by typing or holding your shortcut to talk.
Wait for the plan. Lexi lists the steps it intends to take, in order.
Read each step. Steps that only read information are marked as automatic.
Look for steps marked Needs approval. These send, share, delete or move something outside your computer.
Select a step to see its detail, such as the full email draft, the invite attendees or the files affected.
Edit what you want to change. You can reword a draft, change a time or remove a recipient.
Remove any step you do not want. Lexi adjusts the rest of the plan.
Select Approve to run the plan, or Cancel to stop without changing anything.
Watch the progress as each step completes.
Read the result summary and open the sources Lexi used. Check anything important.
Example: you ask Lexi to reply to Priya and confirm Thursday's review. The plan lists four steps. Three only read or draft and are marked Automatic. Sending the reply is marked Needs approval, so the plan is waiting for your OK, with Edit, Cancel and Approve.
Done when: the plan you approved has run, and you have read the result summary and checked its sources.
View, edit or delete memory, and turn memory off.
See what Lexi remembers, change it, or switch memory off.
Open Lexi and go to Settings.
Select Memory. You see a list of everything Lexi has remembered, such as preferences you approved.
Select a memory to read it in full. Each one shows what it says and when it was saved.
To edit, select Edit, change the wording and select Save.
To delete one memory, select Delete, then confirm.
To delete everything, select Delete all memories, then confirm.
To stop Lexi remembering new things, turn off the Memory switch at the top of the page.
With memory off, Lexi works only from the context you share with each task. Existing memories stay until you delete them, unless you choose Delete all memories.
To start again, turn the switch back on.
Done when: your Memory list shows only what you want Lexi to remember, and the Memory switch is set the way you want it.
Read the activity log, undo an action, and revoke an app's access.
See exactly what Lexi did, reverse it where possible, and cut off access.
Read the log
Open Lexi and select Activity.
Each entry shows what Lexi did, when, and in which app.
Use the filters to narrow the list by app, date or type of action.
Select an entry to see detail, such as the draft that was sent or the files that were moved.
Undo an action
Find the entry in the log.
If it can be undone, an Undo button appears. Select it and confirm.
Some actions cannot be reversed, such as an email already sent. For these, no Undo button appears, and Lexi would have asked for your approval beforehand.
Revoke an app's access
Go to Settings, then Apps.
Select the app.
To limit it, turn off individual permissions. To remove it, select Disconnect.
Confirm. Revoked access takes effect immediately.
Done when: you can see what Lexi did in the log, anything you wanted reversed is undone, and the app you revoked shows its new permissions or as disconnected.
